The Republic cheerleading team led nearly wire-to-wire to capture the 2016 O-Zone "Best Cheer Squad" poll question. The Tigers edged COC-Large rival Branson by less than 100 votes. Republic, led by head coach Matthew Massey, won the MCCA Class 4 Large co-ed state championship last November. In addition to the pride of being winning the poll the Tigers will receive a "1 Award" at the 4th annual high school sports recognition later this summer.
