Southwest Baptist University head football coach Robert Clardy is pleased to announce the Bearcats' 2016 recruiting class, which features 39 players who have committed to play football for the Bearcats. "This class is full of talent across the board," Clardy stated. "We had needs at several positions and our staff did a great job addressing those needs. This is one of the best signing classes I have seen in my years at SBU. This class carries a 3.53 GPA average and the commits averaged a 22 on the ACT. We wanted to recruit young men that would not only excel on the football field, but excel in the classroom as well."
The Bearcats addressed needs on both the offense and defense, pulling high caliber athletes from across the nation.
"I would first off like to thank our coaching staff for their hard work," said Clardy. "The staff did a great job recruiting quality student-athletes that can excel both on and off the field here. I would also like to thank all of our professors and university staff members who assisted with our visits. We received an abundance of praise on how great our academic meetings were and how helpful everyone was they encountered. Our coaches hard work, the support of SBU faculty and staff, and the Bolivar community has really helped us put this outstanding class together."
