Mizzou just can't seem to grab a positive headline right now.

Sophomore forward Jakeenan Gant and junior forward Russell Woods were suspended for Saturday's game at Alabama after police arrested them and cited them for posession of drug paraphernalia Friday morning. They were released on a signature summons.

The arrest is related to a January 15th raid on their apartment in connection with a robbery. Police obtained a warrant to search their home because their roommate, Koran Ward, allegedly stole electronics in an armed robbery in December. Ward is not a basketball player.

Mizzou Athletics released this statement:

"Student-athletes Jakeenan Gant and Russell Woods were notified earlier today they have been suspended for tomorrow's game at Alabama per athletic department policy. Their status with the program will be reevaluated next week.

Gant is averaging 4.5 points in 15.0 minutes per game this season. Woods, a junior college transfer, is averaging 3.5 points in 15 minutes.
