The Panthers started hot from the field, making 6 of their first 8 3-point attempts. Mountain Grove led 24-15 after the first quarter but scored just three points in the second. The game was tied 27-all at halftime. Mountain Grove's D.J. McNew scored 14 in the first half.

Saxony Lutheran 53, Southern Boone County 40 – FINAL

Strafford freshman Hayley Frank had 20 points and 11 rebounds. Strafford, which was 2-for-13 on 3-point attempts, finished 15-for-17 at the free throw line. Strafford faces Saxony Lutheran (28-2 overall) at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Class 3 title game at Mizzou Arena.

Iberia 65, Bloomfield 58 (OT) – FINAL

Ryan Ward came in averaging 17.7 PPG, but the 6-foot-3 senior has 19 first-half points and is yet to miss a shot. Hartville ended the first half with a 10-0 run. Ward finished with 26 points. Hartville and Iberia will meet for the second time this season. Eagles won the first meeting 69-45.

Class 1 State Tournament: Boys Semifinals

Walnut Grove rallied from a 9-point first-quarter hole to top Gideon in overtime behind 29 points from sophomore Logan Thomazin. The Tigers are in the Class 1 finals for the first time since 1988. They will take on undefeated Stanberry.
