So long snowy winters, hello southern sun…

Former Parkview standout Zach Cameron has announced his commitment to Kennesaw State. Cameron spent this year attending renowned prep school Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.

“It's very exciting,” said Cameron. “I have a great opportunity to contribute right away at KSU and they also have a very good business school so I'll be in a good situation academically as well.”

The 6-foot-9 forward originally committed to Missouri State after a solid junior campaign, but opted to attend Brewster Academy to give himself another year to develop. Cameron won’t turn 19 until August.

Brewster has helped produce NBA talent such as Thomas Robinson, Mitch McGary and Will Barton. More recently guys like Devonte Graham (Kansas), Marcus Derrickson (Georgetown) and Jarred Reuter (Virginia) have come to the program.

Cameron spent this season playing alongside nationally ranked forwards Taurean Thompson and Alpha Diallo.

“I got a lot stronger and more self-motivated at Brewster,” said Cameron. “I had to work to earn my playing time and I learned to play hard consistently.”

Eastern Kentucky, Stetson, Montana State and Manhattan were a few of multiple D-1 programs that recruited Cameron, but he ultimately opted for the Owls of the Atlantic Sun Conference. NCAA Tournament darling Florida Gulf Coast is also in the A-Sun.

KSU went 11-20 this season with six of those losses coming to Power 5 programs. Cameron expects to join the team in Georgia this summer to begin offseason workouts.
