She's back in the show-me state.

Lauren Aldridge, Marshfield's most prolific three point scorer, will transfer from Kansas to Mizzou, she announced on twitter Monday.

"After completing a second round of the recruiting process, I have made the decision to transfer to the University of Missouri! #MIZ" she tweeted.

She joins a Mizzou program coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance and with all of its top four scorers returning. The Lady Tigers have increased their win total each of the past two seasons.

"Mizzou is the place for me because of their incredible culture," Aldridge said. "Coach [Robin] Pingeton is everything I could ever imagine in a head coach, and I already have outstanding friendships with many of the girls on the team from past basketball experiences. Mizzou is a program on the rise, and I am looking forward to being a part of their future success."

It was a trying season for Kansas. They finished with a 6-25 record and lost every Big 12 game they played. They also didn't win a road game. All of this resulted in a coaching change, and Aldridge announced she'd be transferring.

Aldridge was a bright spot. The sophomore led her team in points (11.1 per game), field goals made (3.7 per game), three pointers (1.9 per game), assists (2.4 per game), and minutes played (35.3 per game).

"My two years [at Kansas] have been incredible," she said. "While being a Jayhawk, I became a player I honestly never imagined that I could be. The University of Kansas is an extradordinary university, and I will always call it home."

She was a stand-out player in high school. Aldridge fueled a revival for the Marshfield Lady Jays, who are the all-time winningest girls basketball program in Missouri. She led Marshfield to a third place finish in her senior season. She also became Marshfield's all-time record for single-game assists, single-game three pointers made, and career three pointers made.

She was a four-time all-state selection, four-time all conference selection, and three-time COC Small player of the year. She led Marshfield to four COC Small titles.

She'll have to sit out the 2016-17 season because of transfer rules between Division I programs. It's certainly rare to see a Kansas-Mizzou swap, even if they aren't conference rivals anymore.

"I think I'm going to be the first die hard KU-Mizzou fan!"
