Kickapoo High School will be presented with the Army National Guard national ranking trophy. The Army National Guard is the presenting partner of the 11th annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions, which is in its 10th year recognizing some of the best girls' teams throughout the country.
Kickapoo, which finished No. 52 in the final rankings, is one of 10 schools to be honored. The team will receive its trophy at a pep rally Thur. April 14, 9:30 am at the Kickapoo High School gymnasium.
The 2nd ranked Lady Chiefs (29-3) defeated Kirkwood 63-53 on March 19 in Columbia to capture the Class 5 state championship, it's first since 2004-05 and sixth overall.
Kickapoo is one of 10 girls' teams being honored on the 11th annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, which is in its 10th year recognizing basketball. MaxPreps ranks more than 14,000 varsity high school girls' basketball teams.
