Justin Gerald has been selected to fill the position of head coach of the girls basketball team at Hillcrest High School beginning with the 2016-2017 school year. Justin received his bachelor's degree from Central Methodist University, Fayette, MO, in 2010.
Currently serving as head girls basketball coach, defensive coordinator and varsity track coach for the Miller R-2 School District, Justin is no stranger to SPS or Hillcrest. He served as a football coach and assistant basketball coach previously at Hillcrest and has also worked at Reed Academy.
Sean Nevills will lead the Central High School football team beginning this fall as head coach. Sean earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Missouri State University.
Before joining the Columbia Public Schools district as an adaptive physical education teacher and assistant football coach, Sean was head football coach for SPS at Study Middle School.
"Justin and Sean will be great additions to our athletic program", shared Randy Stange, Director of Athletics. "I'm excited to once again be able to have our students benefit from their talents."
Their employment is contingent upon final approval by the school board.
