The Evangel University football team will play six home games in 2016 starting with their season opener on Saturday, August 27 against Benedictine at 6 p.m. The Crusaders will play home games at Tiger Stadium in Ozark, Missouri next season marking their first year with that venue as their home stadium.
Evangel will, once again, play an 11-game Heart of America conference schedule. The final five games are South Division contests that count in the standings and determine an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship Series.
The Crusaders play their first road game in the second week of the season when they travel to Peru State for a 6 p.m. game on Sept. 3.
Evangel’s Homecoming game is October 22nd against Central Methodist at 4:30 p.m.
The Crusaders Nov. 5 game against Avila and their Nov. 12 at Baker will have network television coverage. Both games have 11 a.m. kickoffs and will be shown on Kansas City TV station KSMO, Mediacom MC-22 stations in Missouri, Kansas and Iowa and be broadcast on the internet on ESPN-3, the cable network’s web-based channel.
