Opening Night arrives Wednesday for the debut of the Show-Me Collegiate Baseball League when the Stars and the Cobras square off in a 6:30 p.m. inaugural game at U.S. Baseball Park in Ozark.
Tickets are available at the gate for $7 for premium box seating and $5 for general admission/bleacher seats. It will be the first look for many fans at the former Price-Cutter Park that has undergone a total makeover in the past six-plus months, including the installation of a full artificial turf surface and a giant videoboard/scoreboard beyond the right-field fence at the park located just off Highway 65 and the CC exit.
Tickets for kids 12-and-under, senior citizens (ages 60 and over) and current or retired military are $1 off the regular $7 and $5 prices.
The Stars are coached by Chris Marston, head coach at Principia College in Elsah, Ill., and a former standout pitcher for the Drury University Panthers. The Cobras are guided by Derek Mattea, Director of Operations for the NCAA Division I Missouri State Bears.
On Thursday night, also at 6:30, the Wild and Villians will get their turn to debut at USBP in the four-team, wood-bat league, which will compete over seven weeks – all at USBP – and features rosters chocked full of baseball prospects from the junior college, NAIA and NCAA levels.
The Wild are coached by Zach Hall, an assistant pitching coach at the University of Indianapolis, while the Villains are guided by former Hillcrest High School head coach and Drury University pitching coach Byron Hagler.
Season tickets are available in several packages, including weekends only and team-specific options. For more information or to purchase your tickets – or to learn more about our great group rates – please call the U.S. Baseball office at (417) 581-1151.
