Brandon Emmert is 6-foot-3-inches of a match-up nightmare. Too fast for a linebacker and too big for a safety, he and quarterback Connor Sechler are a powerful tandem.
"Football's a game I've been playing since I was little," Emmert says. "I've been playing with Connor since I was in mighty mites in third grade. Getting out here and playing with these guys makes it more special"
Not only is Brandon a great player, he's also the author of the Emmert Face.
Disappointing end for Bolivar, but we all at least got to witness obligatory #EmmertFace one last time this season. pic.twitter.com/sLNmA3GPBX

"I don't notice it, people tell me about it, but I don't think about it," he says. "It just happens."
It "just happens" a lot it turns out… O-Zone has tons of Emmert Face photos in our photo galleries, but nothing in football. I decided to try to capture an Emmert Face in real time using a Go Pro camera mounted to his helmet. Sure enough – we got one (see the video).
We actually have an origin story for this magestic mugshot – it's his mom's fault.
"I would chew my tongue whenever I was doing athletic stuff," Brandon says. "I would get going and my mom would bark at me about it and say, 'you're going to bite your tongue off!' So, i tried to fix it, and I guess by fixing it I got this open mouth syndrome."
It's such an unconscious thing for Brandon, "I don't feel like my mouth is wide open! I don't understand how it happens," He admits. "I guess it just occurs."
So look out, COC Small. Brandon Emmert's ready for a stellar senior year – and he's got his game face on. We'll see if it adds up to a 14th straight conference title.
