Games Involving State Ranked Teams:
No. 1 Lamar 56, McDonald County 0 – FINAL
Lamar’s enrollment is about 700 students less than McDonald County’s, but when you’re the Lamar Tigers, that really doesn’t matter. Lamar led 29-0 in the first quarter and 50-0 at halftime, cruising to 6-0.
Carthage 35, No. 2 Carl Junction 28 – FINAL — CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS
Five straight wins for Carthage since that opening 28-14 loss to Ozark and you could argue this one was even bigger than their Week 2 win over Webb City. Carl Junction actually led most of the, putting up a 14-7 halftime lead and holding a 21-14 lead late into the third quarter. But Carthage tied things 21-21 with 1:44 to play in the third and took a 28-21 lead 12 seconds into the fourth quarter. The Tigers ended up scoring 21 unanswered points, going up 35-21 with 2:42 remaining.

Liberty led 21-7 after the first quarter thanks to three Pruett rushing scores. The Panthers (5-1) cut an early 21-7 deficit to 21-13 on a 94-yard Chance Barbe touchdown run, but Grove’s three first-half turnovers made momentum hard to come by.
No. 4 Monett 21, Cassville 20 – FINAL – CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS
Great game in the Barry County Brawl. Cassville came into Monett as a pretty widely accepted underdog, but proved that was a pretty foolish assumption. The Wildcats led 20-7 with under nine minutes to play in the third quarter, but 14 unanswered Monett points over the game’s next 12 minutes put the Cubs up 21-20. Brian Parra-Navarro cut the Cassville lead to 20-13 with a 10-yard touchdown catch halfway through the third quarter and Brody Crawford gave the Cubs the lead for good with a fourth-down touchdown grab with 8:44 to play in the game. Cassville chose to punt from Monett’s 45 with three minutes left and actually pinned the Cubs at their own 13, but two Michael Branch first downs ended things.
