Evangel University senior Allie Dunton-Moss was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday, announced by the league office.
A native of Rogersville, Mo., Dunton-Moss averaged 5.72 digs per set last week as the Crusaders extended their winning streak to eight games. The senior totaled 103 digs including 31 in a conference win at Benedictine on Tuesday and also added 25 in a three-set sweep vs. Johnson & Wales at the College of the Ozarks Tournament.
She currently leads the conference in digs per game and ranks ninth nationally and third in total digs. As a team, the Crusaders rank third in NAIA with 1,527 digs overall. She also currently ranks ninth all-time in Evangel history in total digs and sixth in digs per game.
Evangel returns to Heart action Tuesday when they travel to Missouri Valley for a 7 p.m. tip.
