It’s hard to overstate this one for the upstart Springfield Catholic Irish. Win their sixth game of the
season, and a share of the COC Small title is theirs.
“It’s a really big game from coming back the past few years of losing seasons,” Tiernan Hamtil says. “To have a win here would  capitalize on a winning season.”
Standing in their way are the 10th ranked Reeds Spring Wolves, who want this thing all for themselves. The
good news for Catholic is they’re at home. If they need some home cooking, St. Micahel’s downtown is their
best bet. Don’t see it? Look at little closer at the walls.
Nick Russo, who’s also Catholic’s girls cross country coach, and his wife Kelly run St. Michaels, and aren’t shy about their Catholic pride.
“That’s where our kids go to school and we love that community,” Kelly says.
