SPRINGFIELD – Drury opened their game with Randall (Okla.) on a 14-0 run and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the night on their way to an 87-59 win at the O’Reilly Family Event Center on Friday.

The Panthers owned a 20-3 lead six minutes into the contest and had a 46-24 lead at the half. Drury took their biggest lead of the night with 8:58 left in the second half on a steal and dunk by John Williams that put the Panthers 36 points ahead, 74-38.

Drury shot 61 percent from the field making 38 of their 62 attempts. Douglas Moore led all scorers with 21 points and was 10 for 11 from the floor. The 21 points was a career high for the sophomore from Lawton, Oklahoma.

“I thought we made some improvement,” said Drury head coach Steve Hesser. “I thought Tuesday night (against SBU) we really did our job defensively for about 15 or 16 minutes and tonight we were better.”

Drury held Randall (2-5) to 35 percent shooting from the field and they out-rebounded the Saints 41-30.

Tevin Foster added 18 points for the Panthers on 7 of 10 shooting from the field while dishing out seven assists.
