Dori Rapinchuk (College of the Ozarks Sports information) OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The College of the Ozarks traveled to Oklahoma City to take on NAIA DI Mid-America Christian University Thursday evening and came away with an amazing win.
The first quarter saw the two teams knotted up at 15, but MACU, who entered the game with a 10-1 record, took a 7-point lead in the 2nd quarter to close out the first half at 37-30.
MACU increased their advantage over the Lady Cats in the third quarter outscoring them by 7 and heading into with final quarter with a 60-46 lead.
The Lady Cats, trailing 72-58 with 4 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, went on a 19-0 run, featuring 11 points by Cass Johnson and some great Lady Cat defense, to pick up a big 77-74 comeback victory.
Leading C of O was Cass Johnson with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Her supporting cast included Maggie McMenamy and Hannah Wisdom with 12 points apiece, Kelsie Cleeton with 11 points (alongside 4 steals and 7 rebounds), and Shelby Roberts with 10 points. Johnson drained 5 treys, Roberts and McMenamy each contributed 2, and Madi Brethower added a trey of her own.
The Lady Bobcats record now stands at 11-2 on the season.
