Drury men fall for third time in four games

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis jumped on Drury early hitting eight of their first 11 shots on their way to an 87-66 win on Saturday at Nicoson Hall in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Panthers fell to 11-4 and 4-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. It was Drury’s third loss in four games. Indianapolis won their fourth in a row and improved to 7-7 and 4-2 in the league.

The Greyhounds led 50-24 at halftime after shooting 69 percent from the field in the first half hitting 20 of their 33 shots and they made 9 of their 15 three-point attempts.

“Indianapolis was ready to play and they did an outstanding job executing their offense,” said Drury head coach Steve Hesser. “They played together and really competed. We were on our heels from the first possession.”

Eric Davidson led the Greyhounds with a game-high 32 points. The junior from Fishers, Indiana went 11 for 14 from the field and 8 for 10 from three-point range.

Indianapolis ended the game shooting 50 percent from the floor connecting on 32 of 64 attempts. The Greyhounds were also 14 for 29 from the three-point line. The 87 points allowed by the Panthers are the most points Drury has given up in a game this season.

Tevin Foster led Drury with 10 points. Joshua Palmer had eight points and eight rebounds for the Panthers.
