SPRINGFIELD — Josh LeBlanc had competed in one other dunk contest in his life, and ironically, that was the last time he attempted a dunk between his legs.

The Madison Prep junior successfully completed both for the first time since he was in eighth grade, winning the 2017 Bass Pro Tournament of Champions Dunk Competition.

The third year of the event featured its first runner-up from Springfield: Kickapoo sophomore Donyae McCaskill.

Other local participants included Houston Johnson (Willard), Ty Stevens (Republic), Dyllan Decker (Camdenton), Tyem Freeman (Hillcrest), Sam Timmons (Lamar), and Brady Smith (Licking).
