Missouri State announced that sophomore guard Grace Vander Weide will transfer to Marist College effective this semester. Vander Weide hasn’t played this season after being suspended indefinitely last fall following a DWI arrest.
“We love Grace and wish her nothing but the best for the remainder of her collegiate career,” MSU head coach Kellie Harper said in a press release.
This leaves Danielle Gitzen as the lone member of the sophomore class. It was originally a four-player group when they were announced in November 2014.
Riley Rose left the team in the middle of her freshman season and is now playing at Harding. Kyeria Hannah never made it to Missouri State.
Vander Weide appeared in 25 games for the Lady Bears as a true freshman last season, averaging 1.6 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 9.1 minutes per game.
Marist College plays in the Division-I MAAC, so Vander Weide won’t be eligible to play for the Red Foxes until January 2018.
