SPRINGFIELD — The Drury and Missouri State swimming teams faced off with the Panther women claiming a 129-108 win led by Bailee Nunn taking three wins and the Missouri State men just getting past Drury for a 113.5 to 109.5 win at Breech Pool Thursday.
In women’s action Marshfield freshman Nunn won 100 Fly (54.39) breaking her own pool record and also claimed wins in the the 200 IM (2:02.12) and the 100 Breast (1:02.80). Other winners were Megan Ouhl in the 1000 Free (10:18.76), Katya Rudenko in the 100 Back (55.82) and Erica Dahlgren in the 500 Free (5:02.92).
Drury also claimed the win in the 200 Medley Relay (1:44.82).
In men’s action newcomer Joan Casanovas broke the pool record in the 500 Free (4:26.61) despite placing second to Antonio Thomas of MSU who broke the old pool record with a time of (4:26.53) set by Drury’s Henrik Weible of 4:27.95 in 2003. Thomas also broke the pool record in the 1000 Free with a time of (9:16.04) which also belonged to Weible in 2004 (9:16.12). Missouri State’s Artur Osvath also broke the pool record in the 200 IM (1:48.84).
Rodrigo Caceres claimed a pair of event wins coming in the 50 Free (20.19) and the 100 Free (44.90). Daniel Rzadkowski also claimed a win for the Panther men in the 200 Free (1:39.29),
The Drury men also took the win the 200 Free Relay with a time of (1:23.24).
Drury will travel to Columbia tomorrow and face Mizzou at 5 p.m.
