COLUMBIA, Mo. — Boone Kroenke began the MFA Oil-Break Time Shootout with a bang, sinking a three-pointer as time expired to lift Lincoln over Glasgow 45-44 at Mizzou Arena.
The shot barely left his hands before the final buzzer sounded as Kroenke hesitated momentarily to allow a defender to fly past him, giving him a clean look. The Cardinals trailed 35-25 after three quarters, but the dagger handed Glasgow its first loss of the season.
“I’ve never hit a shot in my career that I felt meant more for Lincoln than that,” he said. “I turned to the crowd screaming and and all I could think to do was flash the ‘LINCOLN’ on the front of my jersey to them. I was ecstatic! It was crazy.”
Kroenke finished with 25 points as the Cardinals improved to 15-1 on the year.
