Missouri State’s Lexi Hughes was honored Monday afternoon as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week in women’s basketball, the league office announced.
Hughes scored a season-high 22 points, including 18 in the second half, and shot 7-for-12 from the floor in Sunday’s win at Wichita State. The guard went 3-for-5 from 3-point range and scored 13 points in the final 13 minutes, including a 5-for-5 showing at the foul line in the last five minutes of the game. She added two rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes of playing time.
