If you told me when this started that we’d have recorded 26,951 votes going into the championship round, I’m not sure I’d have believed it. All those votes have brought you down to two uniforms. AND THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE! Five-seeded Willow Springs Softball and 2-seed Plato Baseball battled back and forth for a combined 3,373 votes (by far a tournament record!) in the Final Four, with Willow continuing its run thanks to an 89-vote win. On the other end, 12-seed Rogersville baseball took down our last 1-seed, Norwood by 156 votes.
Through five rounds, Willow Springs Softball has totaled 2,982 votes. Rogersville Baseball has 2,201. Life has been easier for Rogersville, however, winning its matchups by an average of 60 percent of the vote total. Willow has gotten here by winning 53 percent of its possible votes throughout its five matchups. If you’re saying to yourself, ‘Wow, did they plan this out so the championship aligns perfectly with the NCAA National Championship?’ The answer would be no. But thanks for thinking so highly of us!
Your final matchup is below. Good job, everybody!
The Finals
(12) Rogersville Baseball vs. (5) Willow Springs Softball
These Rogersville baseball uniforms are one-of-a-kind. Start with the oversized olde-time “R” in the middle of the chest, then look at the the thick maroon stripe bookended by a pair of grey horizontal stripes (also on the sleeves). Willow Springs softball looks great with these maroon unis and white helmets. The bear mascot takes center stage on both and we loved the choice to go with an oversized logo on the uniform itself. Plus, white pants and a dark-colored high sock pairing is always good.
