Michael Linehan has been named the new head basketball coach at Branson High School. The announcement was made at Thursday’s meeting of the board of education. He replaces Kirk Hanson.
Linehan is currently the assistant basketball coach at Kickapoo. Prior to Kickapoo, he was an assistant at Evangel. He also named Class 1 Coach of the Year, leading Dadeville to a state runner-up finish in 2011.
“Linehan brings a great deal of coaching experience to our district,” said David Large, Branson High School activities director. “His knowledge in basketball will be a great asset to our athletic program. We look forward to an exciting basketball season next school year.”
Linehan, who played pro basketball overseas for several years, earned an undergraduate degree from Evangel University and holds a master’s degree in administration from William Woods University. He and his wife Jana, who is a Branson School District teacher, have two children.
