EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Severe weather halted play in the top of the fourth inning of Missouri State’s series opener at Evansville Friday evening at Braun Stadium. The Bears were batting in the midst of a seven-run, fourth-inning rally when lightning stopped play and the heavens opened to bring about a premature end to the evening.
Justin Paulsen with the key hit in the 4th, a bases loaded single driving in two runs. The base hit would give the Bears a 6-3 lead.
MSU and UE will resume play Saturday (April 29) at 1 p.m., with the Bears holding a 7-3 lead with two out in the top of the fourth. The two clubs will play game two of the series following the conclusion of the resumed contest, then wrap up the series Sunday afternoon (game time TBA).
