Shane Burns, Strafford

Burns finished runner-up at the Class 2 state cross country meet for the second consecutive year with a time of 16:24.62. Burns, who has signed to run for Evangel University, was also the Class 2 District 6 champion with a time of 16:51.91. He finished 28th out of 658 runners at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville with a time of 15:59.00.
Stephen Kielhofner, Catholic

Kielhofner won his second consecutive individual cross country title. This year, he did it by moving up to Class 3 and beating another defending state champion in St. Genevieve’s Ben Naeger. His time of 15:36.57 was the second-fastest time run on the state course in the fall. In October, Kielhofner finished fifth in a field of 658 runners in the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville with a time of 15:22.59.
Luke Miller, Glendale

Miller saved his best for last at the Class 4 state cross country meet, finishing sixth overall with a time of 15:52.58. In his final cross country race as a Falcon, the Western Colorado commit was aggressive from the start as he was in seventh at the mile and two-mile mark of the state championship race. He was the Class 4 District 5 runner-up and finished fifth at the sectional meet.
Ben Stasney, West Plains

Stasney was the leader of the ninth-place Zizzers at the Class 4 state meet, coming through with a time of 15:56.97 to finish 10th. The junior was the Ozark Conference champion with a time of 16:43.50. He also claimed the Class 4 District 5 and Class 4 Sectional 3 individual titles. At the Missouri Southern Stampede, Stasney was fourth out of 372 runners with a time of 15:29.10.
