Branson dropped seven of its last nine games last fall after a 6-4-1 start to finish 8-11-1, but with six seniors returning this fall, that sort of late-season dip shouldn’t be a problem this year.
Head coach David Brenner said his group had the best summer of conditioning he’s seen and believes the Pirates will be the most prepared they’ve ever been for the start of a season.
“Almost all of our team attending 80 percent or more of the strength and conditioning sessions this summer,” Brenner said. “Open fields and scrimmages had the best attendance we’ve ever seen. All of that means we will be starting our July 31 more prepared than ever before.”

Leading scorer Jordan Villalobos (6 G, 3 A) returns as do defensive anchors Russell Wachob and Tanner Vejraska.
Noah Collins will start in goal in what’s his first full-time varsity season. Jeremiah Collins (D) and Skyler Harris (F) are two other new full-time senior starters.
“Our seniors have been working for three years to prepare for this season and they have high expectations for themselves and the team. They want to set a new season wins mark, win a district and advance further than ever before,” Brenner said.
“We’ll also be depending on our junior and sophomore classes to fill in the other positions on the field.”
