COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Football lost to No. 15/16 Auburn, 51-14, Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. Auburn took advantage of two first-half Mizzou turnovers to open a 31-7 lead at the half. Sophomore RB Damarea Crockett (Little Rock, Ark.) scored Mizzou’s lone TD on a 19-yard screen pass to cut the lead to 28-7 late in the second quarter. Auburn then added a late field goal before the half and scored on its second possession of the second half to put the game out of reach.
Mizzou falls to 1-3 on the year and 0-2 in the SEC while Auburn improves to 3-1 in winning its initial conference game of the year.
Sophomore WR Johnathon Johnson recorded a career-high 10 receptions. Johnson’s previous high was five, which he reached twice, most recently vs. Missouri State (Sept. 2).
Johnson’s 10 receptions were the first occurrence a Tiger has had 10 catches since Bud Sasser had 12 vs. Indiana on Sept. 20, 2014.
Sophomore RB Damarea Crockett’s 19-yard reception was his longest of the season and his career. Crockett’s previous high was a 9-yard reception vs. Eastern Michigan in 2016.

Mizzou will be on its bye next week and will return to action on Oct. 7 as it makes a road trip to Lexington, Ky., for a battle with the Kentucky Wildcats.
