POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. — For some programs, a tight recruiting radius can be an obstacle.
Athletic programs at College of the Ozarks are encouraged to bring in talent from the region, and for volleyball, that means plenty to choose from.
The Lady Bobcats, along with Missouri State and Drury, have a combined 52-16 record, fueled largely by area products. All but one player on the College of the Ozarks roster hails from Missouri.
The Lady Bobcats have pushed through youth, injuries (missing five players at one point early this season), and the busy schedule that College of the Ozarks demands to be ranked No. 1 in the 48-team in the National Christian College Athletic Association.
It’s often a photo finish to get to class or practice while juggling chapel and work stations. Each student is required to work hours per week at various stations around campus, which goes directly towards their cost of tuition.
Take a look at how the volleyball squad maintains a high level of play while leaving little time to sleep.
