Southwest Baptist seized momentum against the seventh-ranked Drury Lady Panthers and rode that wave to a 93-82 win in front of a near-capacity crowd of 2,514 in the annual Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 Catfight in Bolivar on Tuesday night.

Drury owned a 53-45 lead with 3:07 remaining in the third quarter when the Bearcats would get three-pointers from Sydney Bandy and Morgan Henderson. Moments later, Morgan Strong’s lay-up tied the game at 53-53 and SBU hit free throws just before the end of the period to take their first lead since the opening quarter.
The Bearcats outscored the Lady Panthers 58-41 in the second half after Drury led by as much as 11 in the second period. SBU went 17 for 26 from the field in the second half and 5 from 9 from three-point range in the half.
Bearcats guard Megan Rosenbohm led all scorers with 26 points. The senior went 6 for 12 from the field and 14 for 16 from the free throw line.

“This was a fun atmosphere to play in but, obviously, was not the result we wanted,” said Drury head coach Molly Miller. “In terms of learning and moving on, I think there’s a lot we can take from it. I think we rushed some shots and I think we weren’t patient on some shots.”
The Lady Panthers play their first regular season home game on Saturday when they host Missouri Western State for a 1 p.m. game at the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
