The Seymour girls return three starters as the Lady Tigers will look to improve upon last season’s 8-17 record.
“Every year since I’ve been at Seymour we have showed improvement,” coach Brandon Weiss said. “This year expect more improvement from us. We should have double digit wins. We will have more depth this year than any other year I have been here.”
They lose two players to graduation including All-Summit Conference selection Claire Williamson. Hailey Baker also graduated from last year’s team.
The senior trio of Riley Harris, Darbie Noonan and Maddy Barlow return to the starting lineup this season. Harris, who runs the point for the Lady Tigers, averaged 9.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game last year. Noonan was just behind her at 9.5 points per game. Barlow is the leading returning rebounder after she pulled down 4.8 rebounds per game in addition to her 5.8 points per game.

Junior Sam Kanel was the first reserve off the bench last year. Libby Buchanan saw time in 26 games as a freshman and will have an expanded role in her sophomore season.
Faith Pearce returns for her senior season after missing her junior year with a torn ACL. Weiss expects that she will compete for a varsity spot this year. Freshmen Crystal Misemer and Karli Henry will add depth to the varsity roster.
That depth will help with the style of play the Lady Tigers employing this year.
“I would like to see us pick up full court and play at a faster pace than what we have,” Weiss said. “I want to utilize our depth and wear the other team out.”
Seymour opens its season on Nov. 20 at home against Forsyth.
