Central didn’t qualify any wrestlers for state last season, but the Bulldogs are poised for a strong season with several quality wrestlers returning.
“I think the wrestlers will be ready to improve their performance this year especially with Districts being next to Central at Drury University,” Central head coach Brian Pyck said.
Brandon Williams posted a winning record as a sophomore last season. He is back this year after a strong offseason that saw him go to a wrestling camp this summer where he learned many things that will help him as he wrestles at 126 pounds this year.
“Brandon has been working hard this summer in the wrestling room and I expect him to qualify and have a great season as a junior. He is a returning medalist at the Kinloch Classic Tournament and I expect him to medal at several of our tournaments this year,” Pyck said.

Gabriel Fletchall also returns after a strong freshman season.
“My conditioning and strength helped me the most. Offseason weights have also given me a clear and distinct edge,” Fletchall said.
He will step into either 182 or 195 this season.
Alex Huston returns for his junior season with designs on wrestling at 220 pounds.
“Alex has been helping to lead the team this year as a Junior and has a great work ethic that will help him improve this year on the mat,” Pyck said.
Central has two transfers that will have an impact this year including Anthony Genel from Bakersfield, California and David Margaryan from Armenia
In addition, the Bulldogs have a strong freshman group of 14 this year that includes Chance Maples, Skiler Skinner, Josh Roberts and Seth Smith-Childs among others.
