The Drury Panthers hit 17 three-pointers and held off Lincoln for a 100-90 win on Saturday at the O’Reilly Family Event Center on the second day of the DoubleTree by Hilton Thanksgiving Classic.
The Panthers raised their record to 4-1 as they took both games in their event. Drury won on Friday with a 101-81 win over Minnesota State-Moorhead. Lincoln dropped to 3-3 with the loss.
Brandon Wolfe hit six three-pointers scoring a career high 18 points to lead the Panthers. The senior from Casey, Illinois was 6 for 10 from outside the three-point arc.
Drury had six players in double-figures as Andrew Ballock and John Williams both had 14, Conley Garrison scored 12 points, while Isaac Johnson and Cam Potts added 11 each.
“We’re trying to take care of the ball better and this weekend we were able to put together back-to-back games of less than 10 turnovers,” said Panthers head coach Steve Hesser.
Drury had only seven turnovers in Saturday’s game while forcing Lincoln into 22.
The Panthers attempted a team-record 40 three-pointers going 17 for 40 and 43 percent from long-range. They broke their previous mark of 37 three-point attempts set in their season-opening win over Ottawa (Kan.) on Nov. 10. Drury went 37 for 77 overall from the field in the game.
Terrance Smith led Lincoln with a game-high 28 points. Ivory Amariontez scored 25 for the Blue Tigers.
The Panthers open Great Lakes Valley Conference play in the next game when they host Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
