Parkview High School graduate Bubba Jenkins made the most of his one year at NAIA powerhouse Morningside (Iowa), earning AP 1st team All-America honors.
Jenkins, a 5-10, 205 lb was the nation’s leading rusher with 2,160 yards in 350 attempts for an average of 154.3 yards per game. He rushed for 28 touchdowns and an average of 6.2 yards per carry. Jenkins’ 2160 yards rushing is the second highest single-season total in Morningside history and the fifth highest career rushing yardage total in the Mustangs’ annals.
Following a record-setting junior season at SBU, Jenkins was dismissed from the Bearcats last spring for undisclosed reasons. Jenkins, who previously walked-on at Arkansas, is on the radar of NFL scouts and figures to get a good shot at making a roster next summer.
