Talented Walnut Grove senior Bayley Harman scored her 2,000th career point in the Lady Tigers’ 63-28 win over Hurley in the opening round of its holiday tournament. She came into the game needing 24 to reach 2,000 and scored 22 in the first half alone with five 3-point makes. She added one more bucket in the third quarter to reach the milestone. She posted a game-high 24 points on the day.
Lauren Johnson added in 15 points in the win while teammates Faith Gilkey and Makayla McVay each scored 12 points for the Lady Tigers. Hurley was led by Paige Simpson with 17 points. Hailey Chamberlain was the only other Hurley player to score with 11 points.
Walnut Grove advances to face No. 8 Miller on Dec. 26 at 3 p.m. while Hurley will face No. 9 Ava at 9 a.m. on Dec. 26.
