“It’s a complete army, ” said Price Cutter Charity Championship Executive Director Jerald Andrews.

At the Price Cutter, the striped shirt army of volunteers is everywhere you look.

“It’d be impossible to pull off the tournament without between 1,000 and 1,200 folks volunteering each year,” Andrews said.

All of those people giving their time to help raise money to benefit kids around the Ozarks.

“To be a part of that helps the heart keep beating,” said volunteer Margie Aherin.

Aherin is participating for her fifth year.

Like so many volunteers, she give her time to support the Price Cutter and to support her specific charity.

“I represent one of the children’s charities called Dogwood Ranch, I’ve been on their board for seven or eight years,” Aherin said.

Dogwood Ranch provides support for foster children, and is one of the 49 charities that the Price Cutter will benefit this year.

For the so-called army of volunteers, there’s no better place or sport to help the cause.

“Golf is fun, it’s peaceful, it’s beautiful out here, and it’s fun,” said Aherin. “They make a lot of money for the kids.”
