The Tigers came into August with the No. 3 streak behind Kimberly (Wisconsin) and Soldotna (Alaska).

Soldotna opened its season on Aug. 10 and fell 18-13 to Anchorage West on a touchdown on the final play of the game to have their 59-game winning streak snapped.

Tonight, Kimberly fell 31-28 to Fond du Lac on field goal on the last play of the game to have its 70-game winning streak snapped.

Now Lamar stands alone at the top ahead of its opening game on Aug. 24 at Rogersville.
