One of the first items of business for head coach Dave Steckel and his coaches is getting the players mentally focused for the season by building on ten key characteristics.
Stec believes so much in the mental approach of an athlete, he had best-selling author Jon Gordon speak to his team in 2018. At dinner one night, Stec told Gordon about his 10 traits and Gordon said he should write a book.
In his limited free time, Stec took those ten traits and with the help of his brother-in-law, journalist Jason Thomas from Indiana, he created The Fisherman.
