West Plains volleyball will be under new leadership this season as Hailey Beazley takes over as head coach. This will Beazley’s first high school head coaching post.
“Being a head volleyball coach has always been an aspiration of mine. I love being a Zizzer. This will be my fourth year with the district and I am so excited to be getting to do something I love at the place I love,” Beazley said.
Mackenzie Brunson returns after earning all-conference honorable mention honors as a sophomore.
“Mackenzie is extremely athletic. She can jump high and she’s quick. She will be a go-to hitter on the outside and will be a key defensive player as well,” Beazley said.
Myah Mayfield and Hayden Elliott are two more juniors returning to the varsity lineup for West Plains. Mayfield will be an impactful hitter while Elliott will serve as the libero.

Cassidy Cunningham will be the team’s lone senior this year playing in the middle.
Karlea Galaway and Ashton McGinnis add to the large junior class. Galaway will play in the middle while McGinnis will be a setter. Ashton Judd will be the other setter in her sophomore season while also playing on the right side. Classmates Kennedy Bergman and Maddie Harris will also see varsity action in their sophomore seasons.
“We have worked really hard this summer and I expect us to compete in every single game. We have a lot of athletic talent and we’re building confidence every day. We work hard every practice and I know that is going to show this season,” Beazley said.
West Plains opens the season on Sept. 3 at home against Mountain Home.
