Bradleyville finished 22-5 last year, falling to eventual Class 1 state champion Walnut Grove in the district title game. Charles Hurst takes over as the head coach this year.
“Recent years have been good for girls basketball and I do not foresee that changing. One thing we have done this year is added strength to our schedule. I believe that playing better teams throughout the season will benefit us as we go into district play. We have the talent to be successful and with some hard work we should be able to compete for a district championship,” Hurst said.

He has a strong returning senior to lean on in Emily Williams who averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds per game as a junior.
“I am expecting her to be a team leader and to have a big year offensively,” Hurst said. “Emily will play the guard positions and at times in the post. She has the speed and shooting ability to play outside. She has the size and strength to play in the post.”
Classmates Taylor Mchaffie and Kate Turner, along with juniors Tay Sims and Maddie Shipley, also return to the varsity lineup. Sims led that group with 9.0 points per game to go with 6.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
Senior Kambria Todd, along with sophomores Heidi Todd, Maggie Hayes and Zoie Sims, will be newcomers to watch for Bradleyville.
Bradleyville opens the season on Nov. 25 at Gainesville.
