Wheaton softball won 12 games last year, but the Lady Bulldogs will have to replace a wealth of graduated production from last season’s team after seven of nine starters were seniors in 2019.

“We are working on rebuilding our softball program this season and we are excited for the new and upcoming players,” Wheaton softball coach Kaily Harvey said.

Seniors Nene Nunez, junior Giovana Hinojosa and sophomore Lori McNeil will be the top returning players this year. McNeil hit .261 last season. Hinojosa hit .333.

“The overall expectations for us this year is to learn and improve our abilities on the field. We will be working on finding our strong points and where we struggle. This year is a learning year for all of us and we look forward to building the program up and making it stronger and more successful for the upcoming years,” Harvey said.
