The Springfield Catholic girls were dominant on their way to a second consecutive state golf title. The Lady Irish were paced by individual champion Reagan Zibilski and her two-round total of 139. Zibilski, who finished runner-up to teammate Kayla Pfitzner each of the past two seasons, shot a 70 yesterday and a 69 today. Her score of 69 was the best round of any Class 2 golfer by six strokes.
Catholic posted a team scored of 640, which was 36 strokes better than the runner-up Father Tolton Catholic. Kyleigh Pfitzner (sixth place – 158), Lyla Louderbaugh (eighth place – 160) and Celia Stiltner (19th place – 183) rounded out the top four for Catholic. Reagan West (55th place – 215) was Catholic’s No. 5 golfer.
Rogersville finished fourth as a team with Brooke Wagner leading the way in third place with a total of 155. Carlie Aultman (24th place – 188), Corinne Swearengin (53rd place – 214) and Marichelle Mantala (55th place – 215) rounded out the scoring for Rogersville.
Marshfield’s Marlene Edgeman (9th place) also represented the area in the Top 10.
