Hermitage girls basketball will rely on a group of three juniors in Chelsi Horn, Paris Yates and Sarah Webb for leadership this season.

“All three of these players help to lead in their own way,” Hermitage coach Shane Salmon said. “Chelsi is the scorer for the team. Paris leads with her positive attitude and hustle. Sarah leads by always working hard and her good defense.”

Horn earned second-team all-conference honors as a sophomore. She averaged 9.7 points and 9.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Yates scored 3.1 ppg and Webb chipped in 2.6 points per game.

Sophomore Grace Newman has had a good off-season and looks to be healthy. Classmate Meagan Nickerson is ready for an expanded role after seeing varsity action as a freshman.

Lilly Olmstead is a sophomore guard that transferred to Hermitage this year. Izzy Sabala is a freshman guard who will look to make an immediate impact.

Hermitage will look to use its added depth to run the floor and play defense better this season, as the Lady Hornets look to get back to their winning ways after winning just seven games in the past two seasons combined.

“I believe we will compete with most teams on our schedule, and as our confidence grows we should be able to win several games,” Salmon said. “We have had a couple tough years, but I think we have turned the corner and are ready to compete with the better teams in our area.”
