“Getting to train with these girls is amazing. We work hard every day,” said Webb City’s Aubree Brouwer.
Springfield Aquatics National Team has four swimmers that have either signed, or committed to swim at the Division-I level. Both juniors Brouwer, and Springfield Catholic’s Casaundra Moses verbally committed to NC State.
“Raliegh is really beautiful, so I’m really excited to get to live there, and obviously being on a team with Cassie will be amazing,” Brouwer said.
While Kickapoo’s Olivia Mendenhall signed with Arkansas.
“I’m excited to finally be a Razorback and to be moving on to that chapter of my life,” said Mendenhall.
And Kate McCarville signed with Tennessee.
“I’m really looking forward to that, it’s going to be awesome having Olivia in the SEC and seeing each other at meets, I’m really looking forward to that,” McCarville said.
Working together, these girls just keep getting better.
“We all have similar goals and when we’re in practice, we push each other every day,” Moses said.
Coming up in December the team will go to Kansas City to compete in a prelim final.
“One of my goals is to make the Olympic Trials. And for a team goal, our relay is pretty good, and so we’re hoping to get near the top in the country like we were last year,” said Moses.
They’ll continue chasing big dreams even after they go their separate ways.
“I’m going to miss just the laughs and the memories. But I know they’re all going to go great places and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of us,” said McCarville.
For what they’ve accomplished and what’s yet to come at their future universities, these four swimmers are our Arby’s high school athletes of the week.
