SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury junior Paige Robinson was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for her performance in two games during the week of Nov. 23-30.
Robinson averaged 27.5 points in Drury’s season-opening games last week while shooting 56 percent from the field, going 18 for 32, and she connected on 8 of her 11 three-point attempts. The Bethany, Illinois native also became the 18th player in Lady Panthers history to reach the 1,000 point mark in her career. Robinson hit that milestone on Sunday, needing 19 points for that career total, and ended up going off for a career-high 37.
In Friday’s season-opener at Missouri-St. Louis, Robinson produced a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. In the two games last week, she averaged 7.5 boards, 4.5 assists, one block, and one steal per game. Robinson was also 11 of 12 from the free-throw line in the two games.
The award marks the second time in Robinson’s career she has earned GLVC Player of the Week honors. The two-time All-GLVC selection was previously named Player of the Week on Dec. 3, 2018.
The Lady Panthers are off to a 2-0 start and host Southwest Baptist at 6:05 pm on Thursday at the O’Reilly Family Event Center. The 6:05 pm tipoff was moved from its original start time earlier on Monday.
