Lakeland holds off Weaubleau to win Class 2 District 13 title

Lakeland used a big third quarter to pull away from Weaubleau and win the Class 2 District 13 title 73-66. It is the third district title in the past four years for Lakeland.
Lakeland and Weaubleau were in a battle in the first half with the Tigers leading Lakeland by one after a quarter and the game was tied at 28 at the half.
The Vikings came out strong in the third quarter taking over the game with a 28-10 advantage in the frame. Weaubleau mounted a comeback with a 28-17 advantage in the fourth quarter, but Lakeland held on.
Rafe Kalberloh (22) led Lakeland with 18 points. He scored 11 of those points in the pivotal third quarter
Garrett Strange (23) was just behind Kalberloh with 17 points.
Blake Munsterman (20) had 15 points in the win with seven of those points coming on fourth quarter free throws.
Corbin Meeker (24) gave Lakeland a fourth player in double figures with 13 points.
Cooper Wilkin (3) led Weaubleau with 18 points.
Gage Johnson (2) led Weaubleau was just behind him with 16 points.
Brady Herring (0) matched Johnson with 16 points to round out the double-digit scorers for Weaubleau.
Lakeland faces Wellington-Napoleon in the Class 2 sectional round on Tuesday, Mar. 2.
