Dalton scores 33 points to lead Ava to district title

Ava upset top seed Hollister 63-56 to win the Class 4 District 11 title. The victory avenged an early season loss to the Hollister.
The Bears started fast taking an 18-10 lead after one quarter and 35-27 lead at the half. Ava would hold the advantage in the second half with a 44-34 lead after three quarters on the way to a 63-56 win. This is the second straight district title for Ava.
Andrew Dalton (44) led all scorers with 33 points for Ava. That included 10 points in the second quarter and 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Quinton Donley (3) also scored in double figures for Ava with 10 points including three 3-pointers.
Josh Barlow (19 points – pictured above), Cole Jones (17 points) and Garrett Snyder (16 points) all scored in double figures for Hollister.
Ava will face East Newton in the Class 4 state sectional round on Tuesday, Mar. 9 at 6 p.m.
