Neosho volleyball has a new head coach in Jessica Crow this season. Crow has been coaching for eight years with seven years as a club coach and two as coach in Arkansas.

“As an Arkansas native, growing as a coach within the state I made a goal to challenge myself to explore the sport in different areas and to be able to develop and grow a program that is successful,” Crow said. “Researching different conferences close to home, Neosho came across my computer and I applied instantly. The moment I had a zoom call with the AD I knew I wanted to come and be a part of this school. The Neosho School District is dedicated to provide the best for the students and student athletes and I am honored that they trusted me to take on this program.”

Seniors Lexi Laney (setter) and Rylee Amato (libero) will be team leaders this year.

“Lexi Laney is one of our most dominant players this year. She has been with the program and seen the COC more than most of the players on this team,” Crow said. “Rylee Amato has been such a leader by her actions. She is paving a way for all new DS/L and showing them what they need to do to get better and compete in the COC. These seniors’ goal is to leave behind a positive legacy for the incoming Lady Wildcats.”

Neosho also has a strong group of juniors including: Capri Williams (OH/OPP), Karlee Ellick (MB), Meredith Baldwin (MB) and Delyanie Kelly (OH/OPP).

“These players are so close and have formed a chemistry that every coach wants for their team. Their dedication to the team and program has been exceptional,” Crow said.

Three sophomores will step up to make an impact on varsity including: Miranda Weinhold (OH/DS), Jayley Ackerson (DS/S) and Whitney Kivett (OH/OPP).

“With us being so young our goal this year is actually our motto ‘Play Smart, Play Hard, Play Together’,” Crow said. “With this group we need to really be consistent on serve receive and to not let the minor things cause the biggest reaction. If we can follow our motto and stay in the positives we will make advances.”

“My goal this season is to make a statement whether that’s to take sets against schools we have struggled with in the past and to bring some upsets to the table,” Crow said.
