Willard girls golf won the program’s first COC tournament championship on Monday at Schifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin.
The Lady Tigers shot 400 as a team to beat runner-up Nixa’s performance of 408. Joplin (410) and Carthage (412) finished third and fourth.
Willard was led by Madi Mills and Aubrey Foster in eighth and ninth place as individuals. Mills shot a 98 to finish eighth while Foster posted a 99 to finish ninth. Kylee Hopper (101), Emma Hopper (101) and Emma Howard (104) rounded out the varsity lineup for Willard.
Carthage’s Hailey Bryant won the individual title with an 83. Nixa’s Mia Farrar was runner-up with an 85. She was closely followed by Ozark’s Maddie Greenlee in third place with an 86. Webb City’s Laya McAllister also shot under 90 with an 89 to finish fourth. Lindsey Belnap from host Joplin rounded out the Top 5 with a 95.
