Catholic golf sweeps team and individual titles for third straight year

Springfield Catholic girls golf continued their run of dominance at the Class 3 state golf tournament. The Lady Irish won the team title for a third consecutive season and the individual title for a fourth straight year.

Senior Reagan Zibilski paced the Lady Irish with her second straight state title by firing a two-day total of 139. She shot a 66 on Monday to take a commanding lead and followed that up with a 73 on Tuesday to finish -5 for the tournament.

Lyla Louderbaugh shot a two-day total of 149 (77-72) to finish third. Kyleigh Pfitzner finished fourth with a two-day total of 154 (76-78). Celia Stiltner rounded out the scoring for Catholic with a 171 to finish 14th place.

Catholic finished +37 as a team to win the team title by 90 strokes over runner-up Webster Groves. Rolla finished fourth as a team while Glendale (5th) and Willard (9th) also represented the area in the team competition.

Zibilski finishes her career with two runner-up finishes and two state championships.

Catholic’s team titles have come in increasingly bigger classes going from Class 1 two years ago to Class 2 last year to Class 3 this year.

Rolla’s Abby Hobbs (T-8th – 164), Carthage’s Hailey Bryant (10th – 167), Rolla’s Emma Hobbs (T-12th – 169), Glendale’s Catherine Rhoads (T-16th – 175) and Glendale’s Jadaea Asa (24th – 183) all finished in the top 25 for the area.
